The village looked amazing for the Best Kept Village Competition last year and we would like to thank all the residents who got involved to make their gardens look amazing.
The presentation evening on 13th November was held in the Football Club and was hosted by the Parish Council Clerk, Carolyn Cross, and Vice-Chairman Ann Bishop. This year the prizes were presented to the winners by the Mayor of Chorley, Councillor Margaret Lees. The judging for the competition was kindly done again by Mr. David Brown from The Chorley & District Gardening Society.
In addition to the winners, other members of the community were recognised for their efforts throughout the village such as our Parish Lengthsman, Mr. Gordon Yates, for his hard work and commitment to keeping the village tidy. Mr. Norman Brown for his annual flower beds by the railway bridge on Chorley Lane, and Fir Tree Fishery’s work on our village planters was also celebrated.
The evening concluded as an informal social evening with an excellent buffet provided by Ian Holland.
