Road Closure – Spendmore Lane, Coppull

Spendmore Lane, Coppull will be closed at the railway bridge in both directions between 10pm on Friday 9th October 2020 until 5am on Saturday 10th October 2020.

The temporary closure is to allow Network Rail to install a bridge height warning sign.

An alternative route traffic is:
Spendmore Lane – Preston Road – Coppull Moor Lane – Lancaster
Street – Spendmore Lane

Public Footpath Closure – Parker’s i’ th’ Fields / Dob Brow

Pedestrian access is prohibited on a public footpath between Parker’s i’ th’ Fields and Dob Brow from 20th August 2020 for 6 months.

The closure is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public.

The order does not apply to residents who require access, emergency services or to those undertaking any necessary works.

Road Closure – Church Lane

A section of Church Lane will be closed from Monday 3rd August until Sunday 30th August between 8am-5pm to allow Electricity North West to install high voltage cable works. The closure will be between Preston Road to its
junction with Leeson Avenue.

An alternative route for traffic will be: Preston Road – Chorley Lane – Church Lane

Local Plan Drop-In Event

Meet your local plan officers face-to-face at a drop-in events being held at Charnock Richard Scout Hut on Wednesday 15th January 2020 between 10am-12pm.
They will be on hand to give survey guidance, explain submission maps and help you share your opinions on what matters in the area. The session will be attended by at least one member of the planning policy team for Chorley, as well as a member of the Central Lancashire team.

Chorley Probus Club

Chorley Probus Club is a social club for retired people looking for something to fill their time, meet new friends and enjoy a chat over a cuppa.

They meet every 2 weeks in an informal setting at St Georges Club Church Institute, Trinity Rd, Chorley, PR7 2DN. On the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month.

Activities are varied based on member requests, so you can be sure of a mixture of interesting events.
They hold informative talks which have previously included the Lightoller of the Titanic (A son of Chorley) and Bloodbikes (Enjoying a Motor Bike whilst helping the community).
Factory visits have also been held which have included Heysham Nuclear Power Station, Airbus, and Amazon.
Social activities have included sailing on the Bridgewater canal whilst enjoying a 1st class lunch.

Lancashire SAFE Centre

This year the Parish Council will be supporting the Lancashire SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examination) Centre which provides forensic examinations, advice and comprehensive support services for women, men and children of all ages who make a complaint of rape or sexual assault.
 
We are asking for donations of new underwear for all ages to provide people with dignity and comfort during their recovery process. If you would like to provide a donation please leave them with any Parish Councillor who will bring them to the next meeting. You may also drop donations in at the meeting on Monday 6th January 2020.

Road Closure – Spendmore Lane Jan/Feb 2020

Network Rail will be carrying out bridge strike sign works on Spendmore Lane, Coppull at the railway bridge travelling in both directions .

The stretch of road will be closed between 10pm until 5:30am on Thursday 30th January 2020  until Saturday 1st February 2020.

An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via Spendmore Lane – Chapel Lane – Coppull Moor Lane – A49 Preston Road – Spendmore Lane and vice versa.

Roadworks – M6 Motorway Junctions 24-29

Resurfacing works will be taking place on the M6 Motorway  between Junctions 24-29 from Wednesday 1st May 2019 until Saturday 30 November 2019 or ending upon completion of the works.

The work will affect the northbound & southbound carriageways & slip roads overnight between 20:00/21:00 hours and 05:00 hours. The works will continue until 07:00 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
